The story of Canclini began more than 80 years ago, in 1925 in the Italian region of Como. And we will soon be celebrating our 15 years of beautiful and loyal collaboration. For this limited edition collection, I have chosen Canclini for the quality and the beauty of their cotton flannel.
Today, thanks to its passion for work, its dynamism, its constant innovation and its creativity, Canclini is one of the leading brands in the sector of high quality shirt fabrics. Their fabrics are compliant with the quality standards required by the market and are certified by Okotex quality. Canclini's philosophy has always included a social dimension in its creations. The products do not contain any harmful substances to human health and provide all guarantees for humano-ecological quality to their custumers.
This is the most popular collar. Elegant, the Italian collar is characterized by its flared opening. This collar is ideal for daily use. Polyvalent, it can be worn with or without a tie and can be adapted to any type of face.
This shirt has simple cuffs with bevelled edges. Simple cuffs are the easiest to wear and therefore the most present in our collection. Elegant and minimalist, it has only one button.
We have paid particular attention to the circumference of the wrist so that it is not too wide but keep the necessary comfort.
This shirt's cut is adjusted andfitted but it will not stick to your body. I made it so you can wear it inside your pants. It is also long enough not to come out of it when you are in motion.
I also embroidered reinforcing swallows, in the shape of a pentagon, which remind us of the signatures of old shirts.
They actually make it possible to reinforce the solidity of both parts of the shirt.
On each of our shirts, I have sewed 7 buttons. The first button is sewn to 6.5 cm from the second onr, allowing the neck to fall perfectly.
The last button has been sewn horizontally to prevent a small fold to get out above the belt.
Sewn in Zampa di Gallina (also called goose feet), buttons are mounted on a "foot" making the buttoning of the shirt way easier.
A button sewn as the "Zampa di Gallina" style certifies that it has been hand sewn.
Originally, flannel was woven in wool, but in recent years we have seen the appearance of cotton flannel.
Usually, the wool flannel is built on a plain weave base with carded threads to give it a fluffy appearance and a heavy fall.
Conversely, the cotton flannel is generally a "serge". The yarns are combed and sometimes scratched to amplify the softness of the fabric.
Here, it is the case.
While making this shirt, I twisted two cotton threads together to form only one.
Thus, this cotton flannel, which is double twisted, is particularly resistant.
Since its creation in Paris, more than 21 years ago, I have been working every day on the design of luxurious pieces by searching for the most beautiful fabrics and by sublimating it with a perfection making. I remain very attached to a European fabrication of high quality : guarantee of its success. All our products are made in a traditional way, in a human sized workshop, formerly a partner of the biggest houses. Shirts are sewn by passionate workers that are in a quest for perfection. Each seamstress perpetuates a mastery of technique, characteristics of the French way.
Each product is made in limited edition, which allows you to enjoy yourself by being sure not to see your shirt being worn by someone else. In fact, I have always wanted to inject a touch of freshness and originality into each of my shirts through subtle and delicate details. Each shirt is designed with the aim of bringing you this value added that makes the difference and gives our products this incomparable "Parisian charm".
Just so you know : if you want to do some touch-ups on your shirt (length of sleeves and/or shirt but also move the first collar button), I suggest you to tell us by mail (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will be happy to help you and do it at our workshop before sending your order. All our products are carefully packaged by hand, presenting each item in individual recyclable boxes with silk leaves.
