For a few years now, the butterfly knot has been making a remarkable comeback.
So, I wanted to bring something new to it , a real added value stylistic. In such an approach, the selection of materials was very important.
I am therefore happy to present you present our bow ties, in silk, tweed and velvet, from the spinning mills Harris Tweed and Dugdale Bros & Co.
Harris Tweed is not a weaver or a brand, but a label awarded by the Harris Tweed Authority whose repertoire includes the houses and craftsmen responding to the "Harris Tweed act of parliament" of 1993.
In fact, "Harris Tweed" is a tweed that has been hand woven by islanders, at home, within the very precise perimeter of the Outer Hebrides Islands, and more precisely in the islands of Harris, Lewis, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist and Barra.
Tweed is thus made from pure new wool dyed and spun in the same region of Scotland.
armors exist in tweed, we find in particular the famous chevron (herringbone), pied de coq (Shepherd's check), pied de poule (houndstooth), or the classic armure toile, then called donegale. A fabric as luxurious as rustic with a totally out-of-time look.
Today, I made you a collection of wool bow ties Harris Tweed shaped traditional butterfly.
Our bow ties are to be tied, with an adjustable fastening system (from 37 to 42) but don't worry, your knot will be delivered pre-born.
NB: Generally, bow ties are 6 cm high. Ours are 5 cm long for more contemporary lines.
Rarer than a tie, the bow tie ensures a guaranteed effect on a daily basis.
I project simple looks and purified to accompany these nodes.
A pair of brogue, a waxed cotton jacket or a corduroy pants could be excellent choices to match a tweed bow tie.
Velvet bow ties have a very different use than the previous ones. Dressed, the velvet bow tie is designed for evening wear.
Distinguished by its incomparable quality quality, Dugdale velvet was an obvious choice when creating my models.
Family business since 1896, Dugdale Bros is a tissue manufacturer located in the Yorkshire for whom the preservation of know-how is at the heart of the philosophy.
Today, Dugdale remains an independent fabric designer and manufacturer creating and manufacturing fabricst, providing the largest tailors, including Savile Raw.
