Leather is a noble material. So I gave a lot of importance to the confection and the choice of leather for my belts. I decided from the beginning to take the best best on the market in terms of matter, namely cowhide. The cow is the leather of adult cattle, solid and rigid.
Once my choice of skin is made, there are several steps that come to finalize the work of the latter with my supplier, because they are certainly skinned, but not yet "leather".
For your information, my cowhide is " full grain ". We speak of "full flower" when we preserves all layers of the skin. Once removed, the animal's skin is salted to remove water.
Then, let's look at tanning. Tanning is the step that will make it possible to " freeze " the life of the skin, and thus make it durable and more flexible. So I bathe the skin in a substance called tanin. I chose the vegetable tanning because it is a slow, slow, process that is not very harmful to the environment and health.
Certainly, more expensive, vegetable tanning is very interesting for skins of excellent quality. It offers a more natural look naturel, allowing the leather to age very nicely
Once the tanning is done, I finish my work with the finish. It was at this moment that my leather was really born.
I give it its color, its aspect and its texture.
As you can see, the leather I used for my belts is declined under different shades, all natural, profound and nuanced.
His touch is particularly pleasant pleasant and its finishes have a unique identity.
In fact, for the anecdote, my leather is patine with the time of natural way and thus bonifies.
Known since prehistoric times, many craftsmen embarked on the production of objects in brass of all kinds.
I therefore decided to make my belt buckles in brass because some foundry workshops French are still specialized in their production.
Son manufacturing process, the cementation, particularly pleases me.
It is simply a matter of coating a powder object (the cement cement), and heating it all.
It is easy to use and its malleability allows it to be easily molded.
I offer you two belt widths, 3 and 3.5 cm, 115 cm long each. >That is, the ardillon must pass through the 3rd hole when your belt is closed. I decided to punch 5 holes on the belts, because I find the rendering more harmonious.
PS: The strip should not exceed too much once inserted into the loop of your pants. It's not aesthetic.
I advise you, for a formal outfit formal outfit, to opt for a black or brown belt. It's a sure thing! If you want to wear a more casual outfit, I advise you to match the colour of the belt to that of your shoes. The rendering is really sympa and stylistic.
